BE FREE

Give me roses, write that you love me,

say many things —talk of your fondness for me—

say that I’m mad if you so choose,

just don’t retreat within yourself.

Be as free as an eagle in the cerulean skies,

laugh at life, tell it a story,

—that of Mordecai, who hatches dreams—

talk of your grandmother, tell me your fears...

My friend and sister: we can do it;

we’re on the warpath, we shall conquer.

I am just as I was —and you must know it—

that old familiar empathy remains between us.

In these my hands there is power to free you:

your hopes, dreams, and longed-for freedom.

I am your divine angel, sent by God.

You can’t remain in yourself, forever captive.

Be free, spread out your wings, glory awaits you,

the fresh new morning can never be confined!

Don’t be a slave within yourself: a world awaits

of joyful moments, of the happiness you desire.

Say what you think and fly unfettered like the wind.

Be yourself, be what you want to be, unhurried, timeless.

Amiga, hermana del alma: podemos lograrlo;

OCEAN

Ocean,

feel me, caress me,

and heal my soul.

Ocean,

my sorrow is as great

as your vastness.

Ocean,

take me with you.

May I get lost in your serenity:

between your sky, and your deepness

my name will remain etched

forevermore.

HAPPINESS

Happiness comes to my life,

clad in white garb.

A rose in its hair said:

“Sing to the eternal God.”

I bring happiness with me.

Clinging to my paradise

it sings poems to the wind

and sparkles in the sapphire sky.

Happiness asks:

“Whose heart is open to love?
